This video is pretty cool from WhyTuesday.Org. Democratic Congressman Steve Israel of New York goes around D.C. and asks citizens why they think election day is on tuesday. Of all those asked, an old ragged man who was protestor knew the answer (aside from a politically astute congressional staff). Pretty funny video. Perhaps if election day was changed we could substantially increase voter turnout? I mean most people only have a few hours to vote after coming home and many forget to do so. Moving voting to the weekend would make all the difference but I can only imagine there are political reasons against it (people turning out that hurt Republicans for example).
